EACH ONE HANDMADE. EACH ONE UNIQUE. EACH ONE SUPPORTS A LIVING WAGE FOR LEARNING DISABLED AND DISADVANTAGED PEOPLE.
Our medals are made from recycled paper and card. Originally made during lockdown in our kitchen from our kids homeschooling work. We tested a lot! Now, each batch is different depending on the paper we get to recycle. They are mulched, mixed and pressed into shape by hand. They aren't perfect. They aren't for everyone, but they won't hurt the planet.
Our medals could be mass produced. We could go out and get them made by a big factory. They'd be cheaper, that's for sure. But we don't believe that cheaper is better. We believe in value. Valuing effort, valuing people, valuing the planet. That's why we chose to work with Social Enterprises to help produce them. They take longer but they enrich not just the lives of the recipients, but the lives of the makers. And that matters to us.
We wanted to create a medal that didn't take from the earth, but also, we wanted to create something that gave back too. Our medals can be loved and admired, but once they're done with, they can be broken up, planted in compost and will grow wildflowers for bees and butterflies!
